Laura grew up in Fredericton New Brunswick area and graduated from the University of New Brunswick in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then attended the University of Waterloo School of Optometry and graduated in 2007. After graduation, Laura practiced in Grand Bend for 4 years before settling in Wingham. Laura is a member of the Canadian and Ontario Association of Optometrists. She enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her two daughters.
Dr. Kathryn Alton was raised on a farm near Lucknow and has been a part of Wingham Optometry Clinic since starting as a highschool student in 1999. She graduated with her Doctor of Optometry Degree from the University of Waterloo in 2007 and has worked alongside her classmate, Dr. Laura McCarthy, since 2011. She continues to work at the Palmerston Optometry Clinic since 2007, and more recently has provided care travelling to remote First Nations Communities in Northern Ontario since 2018. When not in the office, Kathryn enjoys travelling, spending time outdoors and reading.
Dr. Stephanie Doorn was raised near Georgetown, Ontario and spent her younger years working at her parent’s family Garden Centre. Stephanie received her Bachelor of Science from McMaster University and subsequently her Doctor of Optometry from the University of Waterloo in 2014. Stephanie joined the Wingham Optometry Clinic in 2015 and also works alongside Dr. Alton at the Palmerston Optometry Clinic. Stephanie is currently a member of the Canadian and Ontario Association of Optometrists. She enjoys working with those of all ages and has a keen interest in educating on the importance of eye care at an early age. She resides in Stratford with her husband Michael and their daughters Ally and Evie. When she is not busy caring for her patient’s needs in the office, Stephanie enjoys Yoga, reading, board games, and spending time with her family.
